At 24, I was studying, a mother to be, and unable to find a childcare business in Zurich. So I built one. Within months I was a mother, finishing my degree, completing an internship, and leading a childcare business with 25 employees. Leadership was not something I learned, it was something I was thrown into, at full speed, under full pressure.
Over the years that followed, I built four businesses. I carried responsibility early, consistently, and often alone.
I began to notice something that no leadership training had prepared me for. Under sustained pressure, even the most capable people lose access to their own clarity. Not because they lack skill or intelligence, but because their nervous system can no longer return to a stable baseline.
I spent thirty years understanding why, and what actually changes it. People, nature and horses taught me the rest. In conditions where presence is not optional, one principle became undeniable.
